The department trains highly qualified personnel – PhD and doctors of technical sciences through postgraduate and doctoral studies of NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. The right to scientific guidance have 6 doctors of technical sciences and 2 Ph.D., namely: Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. Titov V. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. Kalyuzhny V., Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. Gozhiy S., Doctor of Technical Sciences, Corresponding Member Stern M., Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. Nogovitsyn OV, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. Baglyuk GA, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof Orlyuk M., Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Sabol S.
Training in postgraduate and doctoral studies is carried out:
1) for citizens of Ukraine at the expense of:
* funds from the State Budget of Ukraine – by state order for work in the public sector of the national economy;
* funds of legal entities and individuals – under the terms of the contract – for work in the private sectors of the economy;
2) foreigners and stateless persons on the basis of:
* international agreements of Ukraine;
* national programs;
* agreements concluded by higher educational institutions, scientific institutions with legal entities and individuals.
Admission to post-graduate school
The National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” conducts admission to post-graduate school for the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff:
1) by state order:
* PhD students sent to study at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute are enrolled in training by state order or other budget universities and research institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES of Ukraine);
* mutual obligations of the PhD student and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is determined by the agreement, which provides for the timely completion of the dissertation, employment after full-time post-graduate school, the responsibility of the parties in case of non-compliance with the terms of the agreement, etc. (a typical version of the agreement can be found at the department stand);
* full-time postgraduate students work 3 years after graduation from a university or state-owned institution, part-time budget graduate students 4 years of extramural postgraduate studies and 3 years after graduation must be employees of budget universities or research institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
2) over the state order:
* on the basis of contracts concluded between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and entrants to post-graduate school (or institutions, organizations that sent them to study), which provide full reimbursement for their training, including the payment of scholarships (for graduate students in-service);
* documents for the competition for graduate school are submitted with a letter of guarantee from the company, the organization to reimburse the university for the costs of training a contractor;

Entrants to post-graduate school take competitive exams:
* specialty;
* philosophy;
